6th Prisons Health Conference ‘The interface between prisons health systems and the wider national health systems: policies and practices’

The World Health Organisation Regional Office for Europe, in partnership with the Government of Finland and Public Health England are pleased to announce the 6th Prison Health Conference in Helsinki, Finland. WHO Health in Prisons Programme (WHO HIPP) has held five previous annual, international conferences on prison health in England, Ireland, Kyrgyzstan, Denmark and Portugal, involving Member States, partner organisations and international experts. The purpose of these conferences has been to facilitate the exchange of good practices in improving prison health and healthcare systems in the WHO European Region.

The theme of the 6th conference is the interface between prison health systems and wider national health systems, with a focus on policies and practices. The aim of the conference is to share good practice and promote international cooperation to improve the quality of healthcare for people in prisons. The conference is aimed at researchers, public health specialists, healthcare providers, commissioners and policy makers working to meet the health needs of people in prisons within Europe.
