HIV & society
Widespread discrimination against PLHIV remains a top concern in the EECA region. Governmental and non-governmental organisations such as AFEW are working to steer public opinion towards greater understanding of HIV/AIDS and solidarity with those affected.
AFEW 's major strength is that it is rooted firmly in the local communities that lie within its programme areas. Promoting understanding of PLHIV and safe behaviours across the whole community is key to stemming the HIV epidemic across the world.
