Since its foundation in 2001, AIDS Foundation East-West (AFEW) has developed informational materials for each of its projects. Specialists based in countries across Eastern Europe and Central Asia create or adapt materials on themes that are most relevant to our target groups. From brochures and manuals, to guidelines and factsheets, AFEW produces much-needed educational literature in many different formats and for a diverse audience.
AFEW has a dedicated department for informational materials development (IMD), which conducts quality control of translations, edits texts and oversees the production of all publications. Our regional offices work in cooperation with this department to create practical, useful and accurate materials in different local languages. The IMD Toolkit, a detailed set of guidelines and recommendations on the development of publications, was published by AFEW in 2006.
